More than meets the eye
And no, the title of this post has nothing to do with Transformers.
The video is only the tip of the iceberg. I think the article I submitted to them will do my story more justice because it'll explain the aspects of my life that I'd love for people to read, understand and learn from. If it ends up not getting shared on MoSG's website, then I'll share it here with you guys but for now, this video will suffice. Something that I feel is important for everyone to ponder about which I mentioned in the video is that...
Till next time.
Anyway, hey. I've been away for quite a while to, uh, focus on my personal life. In the duration between my last post and this one, I've been up to quite a bit. Got myself a job (yay me for fighting the anxiety and winning this battle), turned 22 (which by the way is not even HALF as fun as Taylor Swift makes it sound, ugh), had a few birthday celebrations with different groups of friends and lastly, got the video interview segment of the article I submitted to Millennials of Singapore done. It's up on their Facebook page (but I'm uploading it here too, just so it's easier for you to access if you're viewing this on your phone). There's actually a personal story/article that I wrote which is supposed to go along with the video, but it hasn't been shared on their website yet, so I'll leave that for another post.
Disclaimer: I chose to have my identity concealed in the video because Millennials of Singapore's Facebook page is a public page which anyone can access and I do not want to be recognized on the street, or have relatives asking me about it should they come across it. However, if you found out about this directly from me, via my social media or because someone I know shared it with you, do know that I am completely okay with it so long as you do not take me at face value or make prior judgment of me or anyone in my life solely on the content of this video alone. My intention of submitting my story to MoSG in the first place was to open doors first and foremost to talks about mental health, and secondly, to opening up about the struggles I, and I'm sure many other people, go through.
Here it is:

Not everyone is vocal about their struggles so it is difficult to tell if someone is going through a tough time.I don't want to say much because I think the video speaks for itself. Again, let me make it clear that my intentions of sharing any of this, be it the blog or the video, are not to shame anyone or start a pity party of sorts, but to educate. Little by little, I really hope to get people talking and thinking and to be more compassionate. After all, someone has to start in order for others to brave enough to follow through.
Till next time.
